Hello and welcome to my personal profile page, my name is Tom McClean (if you hadnt guessed). I am a 21 year old graduate software developer based in the United Kingdom.
My interests include things like football (its not called soccer), music, cinema, but probably my favourite interest is technology and all things gadgety. Hence i have this website and hence i have created the software and website templates that you will find here.
I program my desktop software primarily with Visual Basic.NET using the .NET Framework, this allows me to create great software the integrates well with the operating systems that i support. For my websites i obviously use HTML + CSS and perhaps a bit of JavaScript and hopefully soon some ASP.NET also!
Some of the other applications i use for my development include Visual Studio, Expression Web Developer, Paint.NET, FileZilla, PHBB, and a few others.
I created this website originally for a three reasons, all of which still apply today. Firstly; i wanted to learn about web technologies so that i could be capable of creating the website that you are looking at right now. Secondly i wanted a home on the web where i could call my own; to direct people too and to allow me to take advantage of the internet at its fullest. But third and more importantly i wanted this website so that i could distribute my software in the most simple method i know how; letting you download it directly, with a conduit for you to message me if you needed too all from one cool location.
The reasons i develop the software i do are slightly different however, as i use computers daily and have done for a fair few years i occasionally want to do something that is not possible to do. Or where it is costs too much money or is just totally rubbish. So my main aim with my software is to complete the tasks i want to do that i consider nobody else can do, or can do as well. I started off with Typhoeus Stickies, moved into a few projects i have since discontinued, and then into Typhoeus Hotkeys.
I remain determined to keep updating them to make them better and easier to use so that others can find use for them too. and in that light i have some great new ideas i will soon be adding to my collection. So check back soon or drop me a line if you have any ideas!
